Louis Allen Rawls, mais conhecido como Lou Rawls (Chicago, 1 de dezembro de 1933 – Los Angeles, 6 de janeiro de 2006) foi um cantor norteamericano de jazz, blues e soul music 1 .

Publicou mais de 70 álbuns e participou de flmes e espetáculos televisivos. Montou juntamente com Sam Cooke, seu colega de classe, o grupo de música evangélica Teenage Kings of Harmony, durante a década de 50. Rawls se alistou no exército norte-americano em 1955. Em 1958, sofreu um sério acidente automobilístico e permaneceu em coma por cinco dias e meio. Tal acidente fez com que ele levasse vários meses para recuperar a memória e mais de um ano até que se recuperasse totalmente.

Lou Rawls compõe um grupo de grandes artistas norte-americanos que foram consagrados pelo grande público, por uma adesão absoluta a suas canções que cairam no gosto popular e definiu a musicalidade dos anos sententa em diante. O jazz, o soul, o gospel e a disco são estilos que marcam a bem sucedida carreira, que o coloca entre os principais artistas norte-americanos dos últimos tempos. O cantor era conhecida por sua voz grave e aveludada e um de seus sucessos mais conhecidos foi "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine", de 1976.

Lou Rawls morreu de câncer de pulmão em Los Angeles aos 72 anos.

O cantor e compositor de rock Grey Revell cresceu em Los Angeles, mas mudou-se para Nova York no início de 1998, em busca da vibração dos velhos tempos da cena do Greenwich Village.

Com um senso de composição de estilo clássico, Revell começou a fazer um nome para si mesmo nos clubes de Alphabet City, e formou uma banda de apoio chamado 'Cinema Fantástic' no início de 1999. Seu primeiro álbum, 'Midnight Eye', foi lançado na primavera do mesmo ano, tendo uma produção despojada com músicas impregnadas do seu estilo punk- folk.

Seu som mais pesado foi mostrado no álbum seguinte, 'Crazy Like an Ambush', que saiu no final de 1999. Seu terceiro álbum de 2000, 'The Green Train', mistura essas duas abordagens, e ainda recebeu suas melhores críticas, ele também ajudou cavar um espaço no primeiro concurso New Music Awards patrocinado pela Coca, no ano seguinte.
